Makentake, etsy.com

I LOVE etsy.com, as I know many, many of you do as well.  I recently purchased a birthday banner from Jennifer Anderson of Makentake.  She was so great to work with, nice, knowledgeable, and super helpful.  I'm super excited to see how the Birthday Banner for an upcoming event turns out; I'll keep y'all posted :)

Suggestion Saturday: Robot City Workshop

What: A Robot Workshop! A place where you can take your child to learn about the intricacies of a working machine. Learn about and build your very own robot with the expert help of a friendly staff. Robot City sells kits and parts if you prefer to build on your own. They also host 13 after school programs throughout the Chicagoland area. For more information, check out their website http://robotcityworkshop.com/

Where: 3226 N Sheffield. Closest intersection: Belmont and Sheffield (near Brown and Red Belmont stops).

When: After school to keep your kiddos occupied, their next birthday*, or just a day with dad (or mom, uncle, grandma, or cousin!).  *Robot City Workshop is a great idea if your child has a winter birthday and you're looking for something to do indoors.

Who: Ages 5-?? (suggested up to 13 years of age). Any younger and you're really just building the Robot for them.

Why: Expanding the minds of young children in different ways is always a positive thing. Change the typical, routine balloons and cake birthday party and opt for an interactive adventure with a prize much better than a goody bag full of candy - your very own ROBOT!

Dinner and A Movie

Photo: Chicago Bites

We love all types of events here at WGIC. Big ones, little ones, and all those in between.  Most of the time all the hype surrounds big events because they're the ones that require the most time and effort. But what if you just want to go out with a few of your girlfriends or a night with your buddies? OR what about a low-key bachelor/bachelorette party? Or birthday/aniversary celebrations?

Well, do we have a suggestion for you.  We got this great idea from Chicago Bites (@ChicagoBites) and think it's fabulous:  Good food, cocktails and a movie - ALL in the same place!

Check out the great review that Chicago Bites posted on their blog not too long ago about the
Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON.
